That's brilliant!
How did you get rid of the background, I couldn't get that olive tree to
look as clean as yours.
The first trees on Martian soil, if the olives do well, we'll have Martian
olive oil :-)

Good work Willi :-)

Thanks. Well, in Gimp you can paint on a mask to do selections, I don't
know what the method is called (maybe 'selection-paint') or how it is
done in PSP. You click a little button on the lower left side, which
turns the whole image into redshades. Then you can draw or erase, which
sets the painted areas to normal colours. After that you click the
button again and everything you drew is selected. You could also paint
on a new transparent layer and use the selection from there on the layer
with the original image. Briefly spoken I paint the area instead of
surrounding it with a lasso. - which is a lot easier, but won't work
without a little amount of patience either. ;)

Aha, you used a mask (it's the same in PaintShop Pro), yes, that does take a
fair amount of patience!
I used the Background Eraser, which isn't very effective if the background
is similar to the subject.
I should have used a mask.. but was too lazy ;-)

Thanks Willi.
