JPEG to MPEG

Hi,

I'm looking for a program to convert thousands of JPEG files (JFIF)
to a movie, preferably MPEG. Some library to read JFIF and write
MPEG is also usable.

I just happened to come across this - if you have a Mac and pay extra
for QuickTime Pro and all the images are named sequentially you can do
this. But I can't help feeling there must be an open source program
that will do it too.
