Thanks a lot! ... just in case 'interesting' refers to the making rather
than to the composition: I used Blender and Pov-Ray for parts of it.
(Blender to build a new perspective view of the hall and povray for the
bumpy effect on the comic figures).

Aha, that's where the glitzy bits come from, I forgot to ask :-)

I made a so-called hight_field. That is a sort of a mountainous
landscape based on the image, where the parts(pixels) stick out
depending on their brightness. For the glitzy thing I set a high
specular value (=sharp highlights).
[In Bryce that would be a 'Terrain' based on the image.]

Hehe, that's as clear as mud, but the effect is excellent :-)

Brighter parts of the picture are like mountains and darker ones like
valleys. It can look interesting if you look from a different angle,
other than straight from above.

Yes, the making of it and I have not heard of these programs. A whole new
ballgame in here. My programs revolve around the digital painting for
photos.

Blender and PovRay are 3D programs and free, but a basic knowledge of
geometry is necessary for both of them. - I've been just playing a bit,
everything could probably be done with a 2D program too. The sort of
glittering could be achieved with bump-mapping and enhancing the
contrasts on different layers and playing with different combining and
opacity settings. The perspective stuff could be done with a perspective
tool.

Do you ever use textures to get some of the effects you want? I have a mess
of them, some I have taken and some were given to me.

No, I rarely use fancy filters. I do only some sharpening sometimes and
decent color modifications on every photo I post to the internet. But I
often find effect filters nice in others' work, so I'll be glad to see
much of what you have in use. :)
